Parish Pastoral Council
The following briefly describes the Parish
Pastoral and Finance Councils. There are several commissions
established under the Parish Council. Several commissions have
organizations which help them carry out their missions.
Commissions and organizations provide an excellent opportunity
for you to become involved in parish life by volunteering time
and talent. Please contact any of them for more information.
Parish Pastoral
Council
The Parish Pastoral Council brings together
lay people and religious/clergy who, together with the pastor,
work to build the parish as a living Christian
Community. The council works with the pastor to give
direction to the ministry of the parish. Through ongoing
dialogue with commission heads and other parish leaders a
Pastoral Plan is developed. Through the parish bulletin,
openings on the council are advertised and parishioners
interested in serving are invited to submit their name to the
council for consideration. The pastor, with the advice
of the council members, selects volunteers to serve a
three-year term. Parishioners are encouraged to share
their hopes and dreams, interests and concerns with members of
the Parish Pastoral Council and are welcome to attend monthly
meetings. Meetings are generally held the second Monday
of the month.

administration, are appointed by the pastor through a process
of discernment with members of the Parish Finance
Council. In collaboration with parish staff they help
