The Reverend Father Casey Coleman - Pastor

The Reverend Father Elliott Suttle - Parochial Vicar

Fr. Elliott Suttle grew up in the Methodist Church in Cherryville and Shelby. Midway through high school, his father was transferred to California for work, and the family went with him. Two years later, Fr. Suttle graduated from Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, CA. After working in book stores for several years, he eventually graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Management Information Systems. While at the University of Alabama, Fr. Suttle converted to Catholicism, and was confirmed in October of 2005. After graduation, he spent eight years working as an IT Auditor for Ernst & Young, VF Corporation, and Hanesbrands before moving to Japan in August of 2013 to teach English. After four years in rural Japan, he wanted to move on from teaching but was reluctant to leave Japan. As he prayed and thought about where to go next, he realized that he needed to attend seminary. In 2017, he moved back to America with the intention of becoming a priest. In August of 2018 he entered seminary for the Diocese of Charlotte and was sent to Columbus, OH for Pre-Theology. In 2020, he graduated from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, OH with a degree in philosophy. From there, he was sent to Cincinnati to study theology. Fr. Suttle graduated from Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary in Cincinnati, OH with a Master’s in Divinity in May, and was ordained to the priesthood on June 15. On July 9, he officially began his first assignment as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Grace in Greensboro.

Dr. Marya Fancey, D.M.A. - Organist

Marya Fancey joined the music team at Our Lady of Grace in September 2023. She is also a part-time Lecturer in Organ at UNC Greensboro where she teaches organ lessons and organ-related courses.
A graduate of UNCG with a DMA degree in Organ Performance, she studied André Lash (organ) and Andrew Willis (harpsichord and fortepiano). In 2017–18 she received a Fulbright Student Scholar grant to carry out her research on sixteenth-century organ masses in Krakow, Poland. In June 2023 one of these masses was played during the Extraordinary Form for the Feast of Corpus Christi at Our Lady of Grace. It was the first known use of this music for a mass (not a concert) since the manuscript fell out of use in the mid-19th century.
Prior to moving to Greensboro in 2012, she served as music director and organist at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aiken, SC for five years. She has over twenty years of experience as a substitute organist in Baptist, Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, and Presbyterian churches. Her past positions include adjunct music professor, apprentice organ builder, assistant music editor, private teacher (piano and organ), and assistant librarian. She has presented concerts on organ, harpsichord, and piano in the southeastern US and Poland. Her performances frequently feature compositions beyond the standard canon of organ literature.
When not being an active musician, she enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. The happiest part of her Sundays is hearing the congregation worship in song with the organ. Therefore, parishioners, sing boldly and sing out!

Elizabeth Herpy - Youth Minister

Hi there! My name is Elizabeth (Liz) Herpy, Youth Minister here at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. I have been in this role since December of 2022, and have enjoyed ministering to the many wonderful youth of the parish! I also oversee the Confirmation Preparation program and Young Adult Ministry!
My love for youth ministry began when I myself was a teen in a youth group in my home diocese of Cleveland, Ohio (Go Browns!). But before I was part of any youth ministry, I learned a great love of God and His Church from my family. It is now a great joy to walk with the Lord and His children towards Eternity here in Greensboro, NC! Verso l’alto (to the heights!)!
Outside of my role here at Our Lady of Grace, I enjoy playing and writing music (with various instruments), gardening and wildflower gathering/identification/pressing, ballet, and spending quality time with my friends and family (including 6 nieces and nephews)!
If you see me around campus, please say hello, as I would be happy to meet you!
Pax et bonum!
